Senior HVAC Mechanic
The Sr HVAC Mechanic is experienced in all phases of air conditioning refrigeration and heating and assists the leadership (Shop Lead Supervisor Manager and Director) with daily operations coordination of work quality and service achievement of goals and objectives customer satisfaction and in meeting regulatory requirements.
This individual serves as the technical resource for other team members through participation in quality control and improvement activities staff development activities and provides daily support to team members. The Senior HVAC Mechanic also helps leadership with facilitating and monitoring the work process of designated teams including internal construction and maintenance projects. Candidate must be proficient with direct digital controls (DDC) and experienced in all phases of air conditioning refrigeration and heating. This individual inspects repairs and maintains HVAC systems in addition to maintaining parts supplies and equipment. Responsible for following the operational and departmental guidelines and for meeting all departmental regulatory and compliance requirements e.g. OSHA as assigned.
This individual will assist the Shop Lead in leading the AC Shop and serve as Shop Lead in their absence.
This position is based in the AC Shop and assists with the Central Utility Plant Pipe Shop and Electric Shop operations and support as needed/assigned. Training to support other shops will be provided. This role is considered a departmental position and not AC Shop specific.

Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- Trade/Technical School Graduate OR 3 years experience in lieu of Trade School Diploma/Degree
Certification/Licensure
- Refrig Recovery: Cert Type I or II Universal (Required)
- Journeyman HVAC License (Required)
- Valid Virginia or North Carolina Drivers License (Required)
Experience
- 3 years HVAC experience (Required)
- Refrigerant Recovery: Certificate Type I or II Universal Journeyman HVAC License (Required)
