Elementary Special Education Teacher
Required Qualifications or willing to obtain through conditional licensure:
A Bachelors Degree
Current Iowa License with K-6 Teacher Elementary Classroom - 102 endorsement
K-12 Instructional Strategist II: BD/LD - 263 or K-12 Strategist I and II - All - 259
K-12 Instructional Strategist II: ID - 264 oror K-12 Strategist I and II - All - 259
Successful teaching experience preferred
Reading endorsement and LETRS training preferred
This position is located at West Elementary.
Primary Responsibilities
Provide instruction and support for elementary students with diverse learning needs
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction
Build strong relationships with students and families
Contribute to a positive and supportive school culture
Conducts assessments and diagnostic evaluations to identify student needs
Participates in IEP meetings and develops Individualized Education Plans
Implements IEPs and behavior intervention plans
Collaborates with staff families and outside agencies
Supports students academic behavioral and social-emotional growth
Maintains accurate records and monitors student progress
Oversee paraeducators working with identified students
Encourages family engagement and communication
Participates in ongoing professional learning

Compensation
Current minimum annual salary: approximately $51289.00 for the 26-27 school year.
Placement on the salary schedule will be based on education and experience.
