Municipal Engineer Engineer-in-Training (EIT)

At CBCL Limited we are a successful dynamic and growing engineering and environmental consulting firm with an exciting opportunity for a Municipal Engineer / Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our Municipal Department in our Halifax Nova Scotia office!

Youll play a pivotal role advancing projects involving water transmission and distribution wastewater collection and pump hydraulics stormwater management and contract administration.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Help Shape the Future of Municipal Infrastructure: Contribute to the design and planning of civil infrastructure projects including water distribution wastewater collection and pumping sanitary sewer systems and stormwater management facilities;
• Craft with Precision: Assist in developing detailed design drawings and technical documentation using AutoCAD and Civil 3D;
• Collaborate and Innovate: Work alongside senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams to refine design concepts perform engineering calculations and ensure project specifications meet client needs and regulatory standards;
• Engage On-Site: Participate in site visits and fieldwork collecting essential data for infrastructure investigations observing construction activities and supporting resident observation duties; and
• Support Project Success: Prepare technical reports cost estimates and tender documents.

Your Capabilities and Credentials:

• Educational and Professional Credentials: A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering is required with registration or eligibility for registration with the appropriate Canadian provincial engineering association;
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of related experience. Were particularly interested in individuals with experience in water distribution sanitary sewer design stormwater management and site development. While not required experience in a consulting environmentespecially on civil or municipal infrastructure projectsis a valuable asset.
• Technical/Design Experience: Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D InfraWorks WaterCAD PCSWMM and ArcMap;
• Collaborative Communicator: Strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively convey technical information and collaborate with project stakeholders;
• Organized and Detail-Oriented: Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently maintain attention to detail with the ability to thrive in a deadline-oriented environment; and
• Team Player: A collaborative mindset and a passion for contributing to a positive team environment.
