Job Summary

Our client is looking for a Senior Social Work Assistant to join our Area Services team in Birmingham. We are a One Team organization dedicated to high support and high challenge working together to make Birmingham the greatest city to grow up in.

What will your responsibilities be

  • Case Management: Act as the allocated worker for specific cases as assigned by the Team Manager or Social Worker.
  • Assessments: Complete assessments that comply with statutory requirements ensuring the well-being and safety of the child is always paramount.
  • Direct Support:Provide practical day-to-day support to children and their families.
  • Data Analysis: Collect record and critically analyze information using management systems to fulfill statutory responsibilities.
  • Partnership Working:Liaise with other professionals and agencies to ensure services are joined up and achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Reporting:Accurately record and communicate evidence-based information through written and verbal reports.
  • Service Development:Attend team meetings and service reviews to contribute positively to the teams outcomes.

Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Experience: Proven experience in a social care environment supporting vulnerable children and young people.
  • Professionalism:A commitment to personal professional development and reflective practice.
  • Knowledge:Up-to-date knowledge of changes to legislation court rules and best practice developments.
  • Team Skills:Ability to work as a team member and support the Team Manager with additional duties as needed.
  • Values:A commitment to the Trusts values: One Team Accountability Quality and Relationships.

Working Environment

  • Supervision: You will work within established guidelines with regular scrutiny and support from a Team Manager.
  • Safeguarding:Birmingham Childrens Trust is committed to safeguarding; this post requires Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) and ISA checks.
