Overview
We are seeking a part-time Chaplain to work with our residents in our Assisted Living facilities! The Chaplain provides spiritual care to residents staff and family members of Catholic Eldercare.
Schedule includes: This position is full-time and scheduled for 80 hours per 2 week pay period. Daytime hours and flexible week day schedule does include at least one Sunday rotation per month.

About our community
Catholic Eldercare is a community of residential facilities in Northeast Minneapolis offering services in assisted living independent living skilled nursing memory care transitional care and adult day services.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for mission integration across the organization; serves as a guiding presence for Catholic identity spiritual care and values-based culture.
- Regularly visit residents as a Pastoral/spiritual presence.
- Participate in care conferences.
- Collaborate with Pastoral Care Team and Interdisciplinary Team.
- Prepare a spiritual assessment and care plan on all residents on assigned unit.
- Conduct morning prayer arrange for individual sacraments for each resident in accordance with their religious preference (such as reconciliation Eucharist Sacrament of the Sick according to the expressed wished of the resident and/or family members.)
- Attend wake and/or funeral when resident dies when possible.
- Support family members and staff.
- Organize and conducts memorial services.
- Participate in monthly department meetings.
- Participate in staffing needs at St. Anthony Chapel.
- Conducts MDS Interviews on assigned residents.
- Catholic Eldercare is committed to recognition and effective management of each residents pain and suffering. Every employee (within the scope of their position) is responsible to seek relief for any resident observed to be in pain (physical spiritual or otherwise) through therapeutic intervention (hand holding physical touch acknowledgement of discomfort) and reporting the discomfort to the appropriate staff.
- Perform all duties in a manner that is consistent with quality standards infection control and safety measures which includes using Standard Precautions at all times.
- Participate in in-service programs mandatory training and attend meetings in the interest of improving skills acquiring knowledge and meeting state and federal regulations.
- Remain current on tuberculosis screening.
- Work as a team member and adapt to changes in work assignments to meet resident and/or staffing needs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Masters degree in Theology or Pastoral ministry preferred
- 1-4 units of CPE preferred or equivalent training or experience
- Two years of experience working in long term care or hospice preferred
- Broad understanding of diverse religious traditions
- Active member in a church/temple/mosque of employees faith tradition or spiritual community
- Ability to lead Ecumenical Worship Services
- Intermediate computer skills understanding of basic office software and hardware
- Demonstrate empathy and understanding of population served
- Excellent interpersonal skills ability to communicate clearly and effectively
