Navitas Healthcare LLC is a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join a short-term acute care hospital on the night shift. First-time travelers are welcome. The RRT will provide advanced respiratory care across ICU PCU Med-Surg and Emergency Department settings supporting critically ill patients with complex respiratory needs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive respiratory care to adult and critically ill patients
Perform airway management including intubation extubation suctioning tracheostomy care and pulmonary hygiene
Administer respiratory medications and therapies (e.g. Albuterol Atrovent Pulmicort Mucomyst Racemic Epinephrine Spiriva Theophylline)
Manage and troubleshoot mechanical ventilation systems including SIMV BiPAP CPAP HFNC and trach collar support
Perform ABG collection via arterial puncture and interpret results
Provide chest physiotherapy and assist with patient transport across departments and emergency transfers
Support high-acuity cases including ARDS COPD asthma pneumonia COVID-19 and cystic fibrosis
Assist in emergency situations including high-risk deliveries and near-drowning cases
Utilize hospital equipment and electronic health records (Cerner) for documentation
Collaborate with physicians nurses and multidisciplinary care teams
Schedule & Requirements
Night Shift: 3x12-hour shifts (6:00 PM 6:30 AM)
Every 3rd weekend rotation (approx. 4 weekends per contract)
Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
Guaranteed 3648 hours per week depending on schedule rotation
Qualifications
Active RRT license in Indiana
Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Minimum 35 years of experience in adult critical care and emergency respiratory therapy
Strong experience with ventilators airway management and ICU-level care
Preferred Qualifications
PALS and NRP certifications
Experience in NICU pediatrics or home respiratory care
Strong critical thinking and ability to perform in high-acuity environments
