Technical Market Development Specialist China

* Objective:

This professional will work to support the growth of the global Niobium market within the automotive steels segment. It is expected of this professional to work with our direct customers (steel makers) and with the customer of our customers (OEMs and Tiers) for the development and optimization of automotive Nb-bearing steel grades.

* Reference Professionals:

A professional who is capable to balance deep metallurgical understanding of Nb-technology in automotive steels with the business capabilities that will lead to market growth. This includes effective customer engagement development and management of technical projects of high complexity provision of technical support and assistance to customers and a cross-function internal collaboration with different areas. For this position it is crucial to have a clear understanding of the dynamics of the automotive industry. This professional is expected to travel 50-60% of their time domestic and internionally.

* Team Work:

Although in the technical Market development department this professional acts in coordination with the segment leaders with the subsidiary managers the technical experts of correlated fields market intelligence strategy commercial PMO and other areas that will support the market development activties. So this professional is expected to support and enable colleagues across functions.

* Activities:

This professional will work on the implementation management and validation of technical initiatives that will sustain market expansion and growth within existing or new customers. From an external perspective these activities are in general (but not limited to) R&D projects technical support at the steel plant level implementation of industrial trials validation of metallurgical concepts via simulation work presentation of promising results in conferences and congresses organization of tech-days at customers and end-users. Internally this professional must be capable to manage all these initatives and convert their perspectives into actionable sales of Nb products in partnership with the global teams in parallel this professional must be capable of communicating the evolution of such initiatives and have total ownership of the growth coming from them.

* Knowledge:

Deep metallurgical understanding of automotive steels (cold rolled and hot rolled) and a solid understanding of where and how Nb technology affect these materials besides having applied knoweldge on the development production and commercialization of these grades. The candidate must also have a complete understanding of the global automotive steel market scenario in terms of the key global players in order to understand the business logic and what are the main triggers that have to be addressed to implement or expand the Niobium market. As abovementioned this candidate must have a clear understanding of the dynamics for validation of materials within the automotive industry and the implications/timing for such developments.

* Technical Communication:

Participate in meetings conferences or technical presentations to customers or other players in the value chain fulfilling widespread needs of information on niobium.

• Technical Background in metallurgy materials or correlated areas.
• Need: Minimum Masters and desirable a PhD with a minimum 10 years of accumulated knowledge in topics related to technical area (either global expert in one field or regional experience in general topics)
