Job Summary
Navitas Healthcare LLC is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care in a correctional healthcare setting. The RN will be responsible for delivering patient-centered care administering treatments and ensuring compliance with healthcare standards while maintaining safety and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and deliver direct patient care
- Execute provider orders and administer medications as prescribed
- Assist healthcare providers during examinations and treatment procedures
- Conduct sick calls and prepare exam rooms and medical equipment
- Monitor patient health conditions and respond to medical needs promptly
- Perform emergency procedures and coordinate care with medical staff
- Supervise and support LPNs and non-licensed healthcare personnel
- Maintain accurate detailed and confidential medical records
- Manage medication administration and documentation (including pill call)
- Coordinate referrals and treatment with external healthcare providers
- Monitor hospitalizations and evaluate healthcare service utilization
- Provide patient education and health counseling
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations and controlled substance policies
- Maintain a safe and secure clinical environment
- Assist with audits reporting and accreditation processes
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (Diploma or Degree)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment
- Valid drivers license required
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience preferred
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently with sound clinical judgment
