Job Title: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Travel Contract
Location: Greenville SC 29605
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
Schedule: Every other weekend required
Block Scheduling: Not available
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide high-quality respiratory care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The therapist will work primarily with adult and geriatric patients delivering critical respiratory interventions and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respiratory care in adult critical care settings
- Perform procedures including extubation airway management suctioning and tracheostomy care
- Administer respiratory medications via various delivery systems (MDI nebulizers aerosol setups trach collars etc.)
- Manage oxygen therapy including high-flow nasal cannula and trach collar systems
- Operate and monitor ventilators including BiPAP and CPAP
- Troubleshoot ventilator alarms and assist with weaning from mechanical ventilation
- Conduct pulmonary hygiene and collect sputum specimens
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Epic
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams for patient care planning
- Float to other units or campuses as needed based on competency
Requirements
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in South Carolina (required at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience
- Trauma Level 1 experience required
- Minimum 1 year of Epic charting experience
Certifications Required:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
Clinical Skills Required
- Adult critical care experience
- Airway management (nasal/oral airway placement suctioning)
- Tracheostomy care and pulmonary hygiene
- Medication administration including bronchodilators steroids and specialty respiratory drugs
- Experience with aerosol delivery systems and nebulizers
- Ventilator management and oxygen therapy systems
- Proficiency with high-flow oxygen systems CPAP and BiPAP
Additional Details
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Call-off policy: Facility may cancel 1 shift per 2 weeks
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted (radius rules apply)
- All schedule requests must be submitted and approved at time of booking
