Carnegie Mellon Universitys department of Mechanical Engineering is searching for a Research Scientist to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will provide support by developing novel algorithms on finite element method isogeometric analysis geometric modeling machine learning to build digital twins for complex engineering systems to study various applications such as computational biomedicine and mechanics and other tasks assigned to you.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct novel research on algorithm development of digital twins and apply to related
    biomedical and engineering applications.
  • Publishing on top journals proposal writings and student mentoring.
  • Manage related projects.
  • Supervise graduate/undergraduate students on research.

Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree in mechanical engineering mathematics or related fields in engineering
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Experience on computational mechanics finite element simulations isogeometric analysis data-driven modeling and scientific machine learning.
  • Experience with computational mechanics finite element method isogeometric analysis geometric modeling machine learning data-driven modeling digital twins
  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
