POSITION TITLE: DEAN OF STUDENTS-3 Elementary Positions
QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Arkansas Teaching Certificate
Three (3) years of teaching experience
REPORTS TO: Building Principal or designee
JOB GOALS: Assist the principal in planning developing and implementing the total program of the school.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Oversee student behavior support systems emphasizing teaching reteaching and reinforcing positive behaviors. Assign appropriate sanctions.
2. Monitor behavior data to identify trends and support interventions.
3. Coordinate Tier 2 and Tier 3 behavior supports.
4. Provide active supervision during arrival dismissal transitions lunch and recess.
5. Assist in developing and monitoring Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
6. Collect and analyze discipline and behavior data
7. Provide coaching and support to teachers on classroom management and behavior interventions.
8. May serve as the building Special Education/Section 504 Designee ensuring compliance with applicable laws policies and procedures.
9. Oversee safety issues and procedures to maintain a safe orderly and secure environment. Assist with or prepare necessary reports or documentation as requested.
10. Assume responsibility for encouraging and involving community staff and where appropriate students in decision-making about educational program development and implementation at the building level.
11. Cooperate in conducting safety inspections and safety drill activities.
12. Assist in the administration of school rules regarding attendance.
13. Assist the principal in the general administration of the school.
14. Meet with parents or other parties to resolve issues with students.
15. Assist with parent night activities and supervision.
16. Attend required professional development meetings with the Special Programs staff to address due process compliance and building-level issues.
17. Know Board of Education policies District and school guidelines and regulations and adhere to the same.
18. Conduct walk-throughs in classrooms.
19. Other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary Range: Teacher Salary Schedule. (Placement depends upon education and experience.)
Length of Contract: 190 contract days
