About the role
Gumeracha and Mt Pleasant hospitals are located in the Hills/Barossa regions of the Barossa Hills Fleurieu Local Health Network. SA Pharmacy commenced services to these sites in July 2025 providing medication supply and clinical pharmacy services to acute inpatients.
Join the Mt Barker pharmacy team as a Pharmacy Assistant or Senior Pharmacy Assistant and support the delivery of safe efficient medication services for patients at Gumeracha and Mt Pleasant this hands on role you will be responsible for inventory management at both hospitals ordering and goods receipting medicines for acute inpatients of both sites. As a regular SA Pharmacy presence on site you work independently with support from the Mt Barker pharmacy team demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and understanding of escalation points. The Pharmacy Assistant uses the electronic medication record SA Pharmacy inventory management software and interacts with suppliers to ensure effective medication inventory management.

- Skills & Attributes:A willingness to learn strong arithmetic and written communication skills excellent attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience:Proven experience in a hospital pharmacy setting with proficiency in Pharmacy Management Software and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge:A strong understanding of pharmaceutical products medical terminology pharmacy manufacturing clinical and dispensing methods and the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.
- Technical & Physical Requirements:Good manual dexterity data entry and keyboard skills strong public relations skills and the physical capability to lift push squat and reach as needed.
