A day in the life
Amazon connects its global network to numerous external networks to deliver content and services to customers worldwide. This connectivity comes in two forms: direct peering with destination networks or transit through intermediary networks.

The AGIS team manages all external network relationships securing connectivity in optimal locations. Peering arrangements are either settlement-free (SFI) or paid with most being SFI. When necessary the team conducts commercial negotiations to acquire paid peering or transit capacity.

Additionally AGIS negotiates embedded caching contracts deploying caching platforms within external networks to enhance content delivery and performance.
