Underwriter

About the role:

As an Underwriter within our Renewal Connect team youll play a key role in managing renewals and midterm adjustments for a varied portfolio of highervolume lowerpremium business. Youll work closely with brokers and internal teams to deliver an efficient proactive underwriting service while helping retain and grow our renewal book.

Youll be approachable and trusted by brokers someone who takes ownership spots opportunities and contributes positively to the wider team.

What youll be doing:

• Underwriting renewals and midterm adjustments within your authority and company guidelines

• Providing a responsive highquality service to brokers via Acturis email and phone

• Prioritising renewal activity to meet deadlines and retain business

• Proactively following up renewals and supporting retention and upsell opportunities

• Monitoring broker activity and sharing insights with your Team Leader

• Answering incoming broker calls promptly and professionally

• Building strong internal relationships particularly with Technical teams in Leeds

• Contributing to underwriting meetings projects and continuous improvement initiatives

What were looking for:

• Previous insurance experience with sound underwriting or technical knowledge

• Strong communication skills confident working with brokers and colleagues

• High accuracy attention to detail and sound numerical ability

• Comfortable working in a fastpaced teamfocused environment

• Good IT skills including MS Office (Acturis knowledge is a plus but not essential)

• Studying towards or willing to study for CII qualifications

• Experience in our lines of business is helpful but not a requirement we care more about your outlook potential and approach to service
