Grade:Main payscale TLR2b ( 1 or 2 SEN points depending on experience/qualifications)

Newhams Language Communication and Interaction Service is a well-established and highly effective specialist team within a unified SEND support service which works with Autistic children and young people and developmental language disorder and their schools and families across EYs primary and secondary mainstream settings.

This is an opportunity for an outstanding teacher with experience of working with children and young people with autism to join our dynamic multi-professional team of teachers speech and language therapists and SEN practitioners to help shape the future of inclusion for Autistic children and young people.

You would:

  • Work in partnership with schools to support advise and deliver high quality specialised assessment and give recommendations for learning for Autistic children and young people
  • Lead training sessions for teachers TAs parents/ carers and other professionals across the range of children and young peoples services.
  • Work closely with the Group manager Lead Speech and Language therapist andother team members and colleagues within the unified support service and across a range of agencies to ensure cohesive service delivery to families and schools*

You are:

  • A skilled enthusiastic and creative teacher with significant experience of autism SEN and disability and inclusion
  • Knowledgeable about up- to-date and effective approaches to teaching and learning of Autistic children and young people
  • Experienced in delivering training to school staff and others
  • Able to challenge motivate and inspire teachers TAs parents/cares and other professionals
  • A good communicator skilled in building relationships with staff colleagues and families
