Job Summary:
We are hiring an experienced 6GR Pipe Welder with strong flux core (FCAW) skills for a full-time night shift position in Houma LA. The ideal candidate can weld in the 6GR position read blueprints and produce high-quality welds that meet industry standards.
Must-Haves
- Proven 6GR pipe welding experience
- Strong flux core (FCAW) skills
- Ability to pass a 6GR weld test
- Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols
- Reliable and safety-focused
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS/ASME certifications
- Experience with Stick TIG or MIG welding
- Background in shipyard oil & gas or fabrication
- TWIC card
Interview Questions
- Describe your 6GR welding experience and materials youve worked with.
- How do you prevent common FCAW defects
- Have you passed a 6GR weld test before
- How do you read welding symbols on blueprints
- Describe a time you repaired a weld.
- What safety practices do you follow in difficult positions
- Are you able to work Night shift
