Director of Terminal AutomationatPike Fuels Management Services LP d/b/a

Lucknow-Highspire Terminalsin Middletown PA


Lead automation initiatives across all terminal locations. Responsible for overseeing the maintenance of existing systems spearheading the design and implementation of new systems and leading a team of professionals to ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and implement a comprehensive automation strategy aligned with company objectives.
    • Provide leadership and direction to the terminal automation team across all locations.
    • Collaborate with senior management to identify opportunities for technological advancement.
    • Direct and coordinate energy reduction and operational efficiencies automation initiatives.
  • Maintenance & Support:
    • Oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of existing electromechanical automation systems within storage terminals and truck rack loading facilities.
    • Ensure system reliability and minimal downtime by implementing best practices and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Research & Development:
    • Lead the research and evaluation of new system components compatible with or superior to existing technologies.
    • Establish relationships with suppliers and vendors to source components that meet operational and regulatory requirements.
  • System Design & Implementation:
    • Direct the design of innovative automation solutions that integrate with legacy systems.
    • Oversee the development of detailed schematics and engineering documents for new system implementations.
    • Lead technology modernization efforts across legacy systems with improved operational efficiencies and heightened security.
    • Manage end-to-end project lifecycles including proof of concept development testing installation and support.
  • Programming & Technical Oversight:
    • Supervise programming and configuration of automation systems including both legacy and modern PLCs and HMIs uniquely customized to operational needs.
    • Ensure existing programs are updated and optimized for efficiency security and performance.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem-Solving:
    • Develop and implement methods to diagnose and resolve system failures.
    • Provide expert guidance on complex technical issues.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
    • Ensure comprehensive documentation for all systems including user manuals maintenance procedures and technical specifications.
    • Maintain compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Team Development:
    • Recruit mentor and develop a high-performing team of automation professionals.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Supervise 2: Software Developer; Data Scientist & Architect.


Requirements:

Requires a Bachelors degree in Radio Frequency Engineering Electrical Engineering Industrial Engineering Automation Engineering or a closely related field plus 10 years of experience in automation engineering. Total experience must include:

  • 10 years with:
    • full cycle project management including end-to-end design proof of concept development testing installation and support;
    • troubleshooting and developing monitoring and alerting systems and methods to determine system failures across blended technologies and components;
  • 8 years with:
    • programming languages and protocols relevant to PLCs and automation controllers using 1 of the following: SCADA PLC Modbus or BACNet;
    • integrating and managing modern and legacy automation technologies in complex industrial systems using 1 of the following: Allen Bradley PLCs TopTech FCM I and II or Multiload I & II;
  • 6 years with:
    • Reverse and Adaptive Engineering Cross Platform Integration and Engineering System Harmonization automation design and development techniques;
    • environmental (thermal and infrared) and security camera deployment;
    • access control and communication device deployment and monitoring using 1 of the following: 2n Bosch & Toptech.



30% domestic travel to other LHT terminal locations throughout PA required.

Occasional telecommuting possible.
