Amazon is seeking a talented and motivated Electrical Engineer to work on system design implementation and release to manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have experience in system design complex analog and digital circuit design possess good communication skills and have the ability to own a large component of a system. This candidate must have the ability to work well both independently and in team settings. This position reports directly to the Electrical Engineering Manager.

Key job responsibilities
Working with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production including design prototyping validation testing and certification.
- Owning a large component of a subsystem from concept to fielding.
- Coordinate with all other cross-functions to ensure project success.
- Possess a thorough understanding of technical principles and concepts in Electrical Engineering.
- Writing and developing functional specifications design verification plans and test procedures.
- Architecting designing and implementing complex embedded system analog and digital circuit design and systems debugging.
- Supporting product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments.
- Execute tasks to ambitious schedules.
- Establish development processes to meet industry standards for functionally safe control systems (IEC 61508).

- Experience with prototyping and implementation
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
- -4 years of experience in electrical firmware and system level design.
- Experience in schematic entry layout tools and design for manufacturability (familiarity with OrCAD Capture and Cadence Allegro tool flow is a plus).
- Experience designing high volume printed circuit boards with design-for-cost targets.
- Experience designing complex schematics containing analog and digital electronics including boards with FPGAs microcontrollers or microprocessors.
- Experience with mixed signal designs.
- Experience with serial communication interfaces (CAN SPI Ethernet USB etc.).
- Experience executing design reviews in front of interdisciplinary teams.
- Familiar with PCB layout design and best practices.
- Comfortable debugging existing designs.
- Demonstrated strong ability to move seamlessly between levels of abstraction from system to the nuts and bolts implementation.
- Experience with system design interfacing to a wide array of electro-mechanical subsystems and debugging experience.

- Experience applying IEC 60204 and/or IEC 61508 machinery safety standards preferred.
- Experience designing developing and certifying safety rated hardware systems is desirable.
- Proficient with PSPICE for analog circuit simulation.
- Experience troubleshooting and resolving EMI/EMC issues

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
