ABOUT THE TEAM
The Android Core group owns the core experience for Audible Android App and Amazon devices. Audible customers spend most of their time with Audible on their apps. Its our responsibility to push Audible into new places for their Android listening. Developers on Android teams work on a variety of projects ranging from building new user-facing features making under-the-hood improvements to app performance and developing business-critical observability and personalization functionality.

This opportunity is as a Senior Android Developer within the Audible Android group. The team is building customer facing UI for Audible Android application. We need your help to develop and deliver on this vision. Success means we lay the foundation for continued expansion of our company without disrupting an already tremendously successful and much-loved project.

As a Senior Android Developer you will...
- Develop test and maintain software components and applications for the worlds largest audiobook creator and provider
- Identify and resolve software defects through code review log analysis metrics examination debugging and other troubleshooting methods
- Write maintainable and scalable code for software components as part of an agile engineering team
- Collaborate with stakeholders to envision design develop test and launch customer-centric software that inspires and impacts users
- Apply computer science engineering and analysis principles to solve moderate-scale problems
- Continuously enhance testability operational excellence (OE) and documentation for owned software components
- Handle data classification storage and management in accordance with company policies
- Participate in the interview process and provide mentorship to fellow engineers

- 5 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or related fields
- 5 years of experience in designing and developing Android Applications using Kotlin Java the Android SDK and common Android tools and platforms like Compose Jetpack Navigation
- 3 years of leading design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent
- Can work proactively and independently meet deadlines and deliver on projects and tasks
- Experience engaging verbally and in writing with internal and external stakeholders to convey complex ideas in a clear concise manner
- Experience providing and effectively communicating strategic and tactical recommendations based on data
- Knowledgeable about Android (and app ecosystem) and curious about latest tech

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
