Position Overview
A healthcare facility is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Wound Care. This role focuses on delivering high-quality care in wound ostomy and continence management while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments related to wound ostomy and continence care
Develop and implement individualized patient care plans
Administer and monitor treatments therapies and medications
Evaluate and document patient progress and treatment effectiveness
Provide care for complex wounds fistulas and ostomies
Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Educate patients and families on wound care management and prevention
Support staff education training and onboarding initiatives
Identify patients at risk for pressure injuries and implement prevention strategies
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits
Deliver culturally competent patient-centered care
Maintain compliance with patient confidentiality and healthcare regulations
Assist in the selection and management of wound care supplies and equipment
Address clinical concerns and escalate issues as appropriate
Support implementation of best practices in wound care
Coordinate access to community and support resources
Operate specialty equipment such as negative pressure wound therapy devices and specialty beds
Required Qualifications
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) from an accredited program
Active New York State RN License (in good standing)
Current AHA BLS (CPR) certification
Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience
Hands-on experience in wound care and colostomy management
