JOB TITLE:
Assistant Lecturer/Assistant Instructional Professor
JOB PURPOSE:
The Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department at the University of Wyoming seeksoutstanding applicantsforan AssistantLecturer/Instructional Professor appointment in Computer Science or Computer is a full-time 9-month benefitedpositionat the University of Wyoming campus in Laramie WY.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence inteaching commensurate with experience and enthusiasm to teach undergraduate computer science/computer engineering students effectively. Candidates with interest and experience in software development are also particularly encouraged to apply.
The appointment will be a Fixed-termappointmentwithrollingcontractpositionas outlined in the University of Wyoming regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teaching undergraduate courses in our computer science or computer engineering curriculum
- Professional development including participation in state and national professional organizations
- Service to the department and university includingadvising student groups
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Assistant Lecturer:
- M.S. in Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or closely related field
- Teaching experience at the college level anddemonstrated commitment to effective teaching
Assistant Instructional Professor:
- PhD in Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or closely related field
- Teaching experience at the college level anddemonstrated commitment to effective teaching
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Demonstrated teaching excellence and use of innovative teaching methods
- Demonstrated interest in scholarship of teaching and learning and research interest in undergraduate computer science education
- Interest in teaching senior design capstone courses
- Professional experience in Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or related field
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related field
