JOB TITLE:

Assistant Lecturer/Assistant Instructional Professor

JOB PURPOSE:

The Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department at the University of Wyoming seeksoutstanding applicantsforan AssistantLecturer/Instructional Professor appointment in Computer Science or Computer is a full-time 9-month benefitedpositionat the University of Wyoming campus in Laramie WY.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence inteaching commensurate with experience and enthusiasm to teach undergraduate computer science/computer engineering students effectively. Candidates with interest and experience in software development are also particularly encouraged to apply.

The appointment will be a Fixed-termappointmentwithrollingcontractpositionas outlined in the University of Wyoming regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Teaching undergraduate courses in our computer science or computer engineering curriculum
• Professional development including participation in state and national professional organizations
• Service to the department and university includingadvising student groups

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Assistant Lecturer:

• M.S. in Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or closely related field
• Teaching experience at the college level anddemonstrated commitment to effective teaching

Assistant Instructional Professor:

• PhD in Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or closely related field
• Teaching experience at the college level anddemonstrated commitment to effective teaching

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrated teaching excellence and use of innovative teaching methods
• Demonstrated interest in scholarship of teaching and learning and research interest in undergraduate computer science education
• Interest in teaching senior design capstone courses
• Professional experience in Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or related field
• Ph.D. in Computer Science or closely related field
