Maintenance Technician - start out on night shift and then you will have option to go to other shifts
Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician supports the Preventive Maintenance (PM) program to reduce unscheduled downtime and ensure optimal equipment performance. This role is responsible for troubleshooting repairing and maintaining production machinery and facility systems while upholding safety quality and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and execute preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime
- Analyze equipment issues and perform troubleshooting and repairs
- Perform mechanical maintenance on production and facility equipment
- Inspect test and validate machinery performance after repairs
- Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout GMPs and OSHA standards
- Troubleshoot plant mechanical systems and implement sustainable solutions
- Complete work orders on time and maintain detailed maintenance records
- Assist with equipment changeovers and production line startups
- Identify and manage spare parts inventory and reorder needs
- Ensure products meet quality standards
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team projects
- Maintain clear communication across departments
- Develop technical and leadership skills through ongoing training
Facility & Equipment Support
- Maintain and safely operate plant utility systems including:
- Steam boilers
- Water chillers
- Cooling towers
- HVAC systems
- Well pumps and other utilities
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Lift 5070 lbs and perform repetitive motions
- Stand for extended periods (8 hours)
- Climb ladders and work at elevated heights (including lifts)
- Work in non-climate-controlled environments
- Exposure to oils greases chemicals humidity heat and vibration
- May work in confined spaces
- Requires strong vision abilities (close distance depth etc.)
Experience & Education
- Candidates should have technical training in a maintenance-related field or three years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance. Boiler chiller or HVAC training preferred along with Mechanical Maintenance experience
- Food manufacturing experience required
- Experience with boilers chillers or HVAC systems required
Technical Skills
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills in a production environment
- Experience with:
- Bearings seals and gaskets
- Gearboxes chains belts clutches and brakes
- Hydraulics and compressed air systems (preferred)
- Basic plumbing and piping (preferred)
- Ability to use power tools hand tools and shop equipment
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Blueprints schematics and technical manuals
- Safety rules and operating procedures
Computer & Data Skills
- Basic computer literacy for processing work orders
- Ability to learn data collection processes including wet chemistry water testing
- Accurate documentation and recordkeeping skills

Work Requirements
