We are looking for a technically deep Engineering Manager to help define the future of the agent platform at Pinterest. Working closely with cross-functional engineering teams product and researchers youll lead a small and nimble team playing a pivotal role in architecting and scaling the systems that bring intelligent agent experiences to life. You will guide your team in designing and building the foundational platforms from agent serving and evaluation to tracing and monitoring that enable Pinterests next generation of agent capabilities. You will grow and empower engineers while shaping how we build with and for agents at scale across the company.
What youll do:
- Define the direction of Pinterests agent platform and build critical components such as agent serving evaluation and monitoring.
- Partner with and advise internal product and engineering teams on agent tech stack needs to shape the future vision for the agent platform.
- Lead the teams technical direction and roadmap for key agent infrastructure and platform investments.
- Hire mentor and grow engineers across all levels fostering a culture of technical excellence ownership and continuous learning.
- Use AI to accelerate team execution system design and decision-making applying sound judgment to validate outputs and ensure correctness and quality.
What were looking for:
- 1 years of experience leading and growing engineering teams with a strong hands-on background in Python.
- 7 years of industry experience designing building and operating scalable highly available backend systems including owning production-grade infrastructure at scale.
- Proficiency in designing and delivering agent platform services end-to-end with hands-on experience across agent evaluation frameworks prompt iteration workflows and harness engineering.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure on AWS and containerized services using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and people management experience including setting team vision and long-term roadmap mentoring and growing engineers across all levels driving day-to-day execution and engineering alignment and partnering cross-functionally to deliver complex high-impact platform investments.
- Demonstrated ability to use AI to accelerate team execution system design and decision-making paired with sound judgment in validating outputs maintaining quality and taking ownership of final outcomes.
- Strong track record of critical evaluation and verification of AI-assisted work (e.g. testing source-checking data validation peer review).
- High integrity and ownership: you protect sensitive data avoid over-reliance on AI and remain accountable for final decisions and deliverables.
- Bachelors degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.
In-Office Requirement Statement:
- We recognize that the ideal environment for work is situational and may differ across departments. What this looks like day-to-day can vary based on the needs of each organization or role.
- This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/quarter and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
