Job Summary
THIS POSITION IS FOR UPPERCLASSMEN ONLY. FRESHMEN ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR DEPARTMENT POSITIONS.
Expected hours of work per week: minimum 10 - maximum 20
Work Location & Hours: Mills Hall 110 / 8 am- 12 am Monday - Saturday
Work is to be done on campus unless otherwise directed. The office is Mills Hall 110 but event support will be throughout campus. Many events are Friday evening and/or Saturday.
Qualifications for Position:
- Prior experience in A/V work.
- Additional experience in music or electronics preferred.
- Responsible for completing satisfactory work with little or no supervision.
- Flexibility with rapidly changing objectives and drifting event times.
- Good personal communication skills.
- Availability to work events nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in various environments.
Expected Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with maintaining the departmental events calendar.
- Mix sound for concerts conferences and various student events.
- Complete office work as directed by the Chief Information Officer or the AV Events Specialist including but not limited to doing inventory soldering cables and connections editing audio and video and archive recordings.
- Attend weekly meetings and keep track of hours worked.
- Audio/Video record events with close attention to quality.
- Arrange lighting for various events.
- Fulfill other such duties as assigned by the Chief Information Officer or the AV Events Specialist.
Resume skills development (NACE Competencies required by employers) to be developed
