The job

The is a key role reporting to the Senior Security Incident Manager and is responsible for assisting with coordinating and managing Information security incidents from the initial detection through to response containment and remediation lifecycle.

The role of a Security Incident Management Analyst is to assist in providing efficient incident response and remediation to minimize the impact of information security and cyber risks. The SIM Analyst will oversee cyber incident coordination through an extended community of global security professionals. They will assist with guidance and governance for incident response containment eradication and remediation activities. The role requires strong technical skills and the ability to make quick decisions in fast paced and complex environments. Other skills and knowledge may also be taken in account. The role also requires excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for assisting the senior incident manager and coordination of security incidents providing updates during live incidents to senior management as well as remediation status and presenting at post incident calls.
  • Responsible for the creation of Root Cause Analysis reports incorporating learning from all incidents documenting fixes to aid the Incident knowledge base with the aim to improve consistency and quality of approach and resolution.
  • Managing all security incident management distribution lists coordinating with the operations teams to make sure the right stakeholders are receiving security incident communications in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for reporting on Security SLA and KPI performance reporting on how the Security team perform which will be reported to stakeholders.
  • Assisting with the maintenance of the AVEVA Security incident plan to ensure these align with other business and operational team plans.

Essential requirements

  • 3-5 years information and cyber security experience in a similar position in either an IT or Security incident response role.
  • Excellent coordination and coordination skills at all levels from technical engineers to senior executive.
  • Experience in Technology company or similar
  • Must be willing to work out of hours

Desired skills

  • Writing high quality reports on complex security incidents for senior management in non-technical terms.
  • Ability to interact with AVEVAs personnel at all levels of seniority and across all business units and organizations and to understand business objectives and values.
  • Well organized self starter
