The Position
As an intern you will contribute to a project focused on improving patient retention in Cardiovascular and Metabolism (CVM) clinical trials in China. The project aims to move beyond an enrollment-first mindset by identifying the main drivers of patient attrition assessing protocol and operational barriers and translating insights into practical retention strategies. Within your first 3 months you are expected to deliver a literature review and gap analysis a retention factor matrix tailored to the China CVM setting strategic recommendations and an implementation roadmap for future studies. You will also help transform recurring project activities into reusable digital assets by leveraging AI platforms and large language models to support literature intelligence gathering meeting insight extraction and workflow standardization. Your work will contribute to more robust complete and representative trial data helping Roche bring innovative CVM medicines to patients more effectively.
The Opportunity
Conduct literature and intelligence searches to identify commonly used approaches to patient retention in clinical trials.
Participate in study team meetings to understand retention challenges and operational barriers in CVM trials in China.
Join discussions with internal partners and external vendors on patient retention topics take meeting minutes and prepare clear summary reports.
Report project progress regularly to the country Therapeutic Area Leader.
Support the team in exploring and implementing practical solutions to improve patient retention.
Analyze patient attrition drivers such as visit burden logistical barriers and communication gaps.
Help translate operational activities into reusable digital assets using available AI platforms and LLMs.
Contribute to building standardized AI skills or agents that improve long-term team efficiency in literature review and insight generation.
Who You Are
You are enrolled in your Bachelors or Masters studies at a university preferably in the field of Life Sciences/Natural Sciences and are interested in applying your knowledge in a modern working environment as part of an internship of 3 months.
Furthermore you are
Studying Life Sciences or a related field and have a strong interest in AI and technology.
Interested in using available AI platforms and large language models to support practical workflow improvement.
Curious eager to learn and able to work independently while adapting to new topics quickly.
A collaborative team player with strong communication skills.
Fluent in Chinese; English is a plus.
