Job Summary
Job Title: SDET (Playwright Automation)
Location: Toronto (Hybrid 4 days onsite)
Type: Contract ($50/hr)
Start Date: April 14 2026
We are seeking a skilled SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) with strong experience in test automation of minimum 4 years of hands on experience to support cross-border banking projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in Playwright and API automation along with a solid understanding of modern testing practices.
Key Responsibilities- Design develop and execute automated functional test cases
- Perform dry runs and test data setup to ensure successful execution
- Collaborate with cross-functional and distributed teams to define test scenarios and requirements
- Implement UI automation using Playwright
- Perform API automation using Postman
- Leverage AI tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot) to enhance productivity and code quality
- Proven 4 years of experience as an SDET / Test Automation Engineer
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright (UI automation)
- Experience with API automation using Postman
- Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (e.g. JavaScript TypeScript or similar)
- Experience designing and executing automated test cases
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with distributed teams
- Test automation frameworks and best practices
- UI and API test automation
- Test data setup and validation
- Version control tools ( GitHub)
- Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot)
- Must be a local candidate in Toronto
- Willing to work 4 days onsite (hybrid model)
- Background check is mandatory
- Must be available for a pre-joining meet & greet (in-person if required)
