Production Support Engineer (Java PL/SQL Unix/Linux)

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Production Support Engineer to support enterprise-grade applications within a banking/financial environment. This role requires strong technical troubleshooting skills hands-on scripting experience and the ability to manage high-priority production incidents while ensuring system stability and SLA compliance.
MUST HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
6 years of Application/Production Support experience in enterprise environments (banking/financial domain preferred)
Strong expertise in:
Java (for debugging and root cause analysis)
PL/SQL (data validation reconciliation and issue resolution)
Hands-on experience with scripting languages:
Shell Perl or Python (for batch processing & automation)
Proven experience troubleshooting complex application and database issues in:
Unix/Linux environments
Cloud-hosted systems
Experience with monitoring & observability tools:
Dynatrace Splunk ITRS (or similar)
Strong understanding of ITIL processes including:
Incident Problem and Change Management
Experience using ServiceNow (or equivalent ITSM tools)
Demonstrated ability to:
Lead production support activities
Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
Ensure high availability and SLA adherence
NICE TO HAVE
Experience with DevOps/SRE practices
Familiarity with:
Jenkins Ansible CI/CD pipelines
Strong SQL tuning and database performance optimization skills
Knowledge of APIs (REST/SOAP) and tools like Postman
Exposure to Kafka and microservices architecture
