Description
Reporting to the D&S Canada Regional QEHS Manager and dotted line to the Moose Jaw Program Director and working in close collaboration with DND (end-user) this role is accountable for ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 ISO 14001 ISO 45001 and airworthiness requirements governed by DTAES for assigned aircraft fleets. The Manager Compliance and Continuous Improvement is responsible for implementing evaluating and continuously improving the integrated Quality Environment Health & Safety (QEHS) Management System at Moose Jaw operations.
Make decisions and recommendations in accordance with CAE policies procedures and governance frameworks.
Lead and manage a multidisciplinary Quality Assurance team including Quality Assurance Specialists a Document Management Specialist and an HSE Specialist (4 direct reports).
Provide day-to-day people leadership to a tenured team of subject matter experts fostering a culture of respect accountability safety quality and continuous improvement.
Drive sustainable process improvements operational excellence and regulatory compliance aligned with ISO standards and Canadian airworthiness requirements.
Support the ramp-up and ongoing execution of the FAcT program including the implementation and adaptation of quality assurance processes for new aircraft entering service.
Maintain and adapt quality systems and processes supporting the NFTC program ensuring alignment with evolving operational and regulatory requirements.
Plan manage and execute internal and external audits and inspections including audit scheduling preparation follow-up actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Establish monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with local regional and global objectives.
Lead root cause analysis activities related to quality issues and ensure the implementation of effective and sustainable corrective actions.
Coach train and support team members in quality processes standards interpretation and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure quality objectives are integrated into operational activities.
Maintain a strong on-site presence (5 days per week); remote work is rare.
Perform other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering Science Business or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality HSE or Compliance roles preferably within aviation manufacturing or defense environments.
Demonstrated people leadership experience including leading experienced professionals and managing performance priorities and development.
Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001 ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards with the ability to interpret requirements and respond to audit inquiries.
Experience managing internal and external audits inspections and corrective action programs.
Strong analytical skills including root cause analysis and the development of sustainable corrective and preventive actions.
Proven ability to develop and manage KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. Lean Six Sigma).
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Eligibility to work in Canada as a Canadian Citizen Permanent Resident or holder of a valid work permit.
Ability to obtain and maintain Controlled Goods clearance and Government of Canada NATO SECRET security clearance.
Ability to work on-site full time.
Preferred Qualifications
Lead Auditor certification for ISO 9001 ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001.
Experience with CANEA.
Strong knowledge of Canadian regulatory requirements and DTAES airworthiness standards.
Experience supporting large-scale program ramp-ups or new aircraft introductions.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
