Job Description:
Machining engine and drivetrain components
Portable line boring
Machine parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes milling machines shapers or grinders
Measure examine and test completed units in order to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as micrometers
Set up adjust and operate all of the basic machine tools in order to perform machine operations
Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process
Select appropriate tools machines and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work
Observe and listen to operating machines or equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions and to determine need for adjustments or repairs
**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement**
Qualifications:
Interprovincial Machinist certification
3 years of shop experience
Ability to use precision tools (calipers) to take accurate measurements
Mathematical and analytical skills
Proficient using Microsoft Office programs
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Important Details:
This position is located at our Finning Kamloops facility on a 7x7 rotation
A condition of employment may be the ability to wear a respirator
Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
