Manulifes individual underwriting team is looking for creative passionate customer satisfaction and creative individuals to join our world-class underwriting team.

Position Responsibilities:

• Conduct risk assessment and classification in accordance with Manulifes philosophy and standards.

• Communicate and collaborate with sales colleagues and head office to provide the highest quality and competitive decisions to our clients.

• Maintain positive and effective relationships with internal and external partners

• Consistently deliver the best customer experience by making every interaction meaningful

• Comply with consumer laws and regulations regarding risk classification confidentiality and disclosure.

• Identify and propose solutions to problems and procedures related to the underwriters work.

• Promote an atmosphere of trust with all clients to facilitate the acceptance of decisions.

Required Qualifications:

• Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset. If the successful candidate is in Québec proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from various provinces outside of Quebec.

• A university or college degree in a related discipline is considered an asset.

• You are continuously learning currently enrolled or very interested in insurance-related courses such as LOMA and/or ALU courses.

• Demonstrated professional experience as underwriter at least 5 years of experience.

• Approval limit $to $in life insurance and $250000 in critical illness insurance

• Be on the lookout for trends and changes in medicine knowledge of human anatomy medical terminology diseases tests and modes of treatment.

• General awareness of current events industry issues and trends

• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to define research and solve problems.

• Excellent mentoring skills

• Exemplary customer service skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
