Aerospace Systems Specialist
Job Summary
ADGA is currently seeking to connect with professionals within Aerospace/Air Systems Engineering for an anticipated upcoming project. This is a proactive recruitment initiative with potential start dates in the coming weeks or months contingent on contract award.
The Air Systems Technical Specialist will be required to perform the following tasks:
- Conducting technical studies as and when requested to produce technical options validate and assess options assess technical risks and evaluate designs.
- Producing draft specifications of systems sub-systems equipment interfaces or ancillaries.
- Tailoring military or commercial standards specifications or practices for incorporation into system specifications.
- Generating and/or evaluating test plans procedures reports and provide recommendations.
- Preparing airworthiness certification management plans.
- Managing the planning coordination documentation and engineering efforts connected with the technical and operational airworthiness certification of modifications to air systems.
- Proposing and/or analyzing engineering change proposals estimating costs / risks and making recommendations.
- Reviewing technical deliverables provided by third parties and providing recommendations.
- Participating in planning meetings and technical reviews relating to the design application management and support of software sub-systems.
- Preparing specifications and statements of work for the procurement.
- Preparing draft deliverables for governance milestones.
- Developing and assessing maintenance strategies plans and support requirements.
- Providing equipment project management services; developing environmental protection standards practices or policies.
- When requested coordinating test activities with the Flight Test Authority and Research Organizations for Developmental Engineering and Operational Test and Evaluation.
Qualifications :
- Must have successfully completed a university-level Degree (bachelors or higher) in an engineering discipline in or related to aerospace engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in aerospace or defence engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 1 years of recent and relevant experience in the following areas:
- Working in the definition development study or maintenance of Aircraft Electronic Warfare Systems.
- Applying airspace airworthiness regulations (civil or military) enforced in North America.
- Reviewing project management documents for the following sub-criteria: Configuration Management Plans Statements of Work Statements of Requirement and Options Analysis
- Developing or managing the following DND specific airworthiness products: Aircraft Modification Approval Form Modification DIR Form Request for Project Estimate (RFPE)
- Developing or managing the following DND specific project initiation products: Defence Procurement Strategy Submissions Statements of work for Foreign Military Sales Cases
- Knowledge of airworthiness and certification processes (military or civil aviation)
- Experience developing or reviewing technical specifications and test documentation
- Familiarity with engineering change management and configuration control
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent technical writing and communication abilities
Additional Information :
- Relevant Professional Certification would be considered a strong asset
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada Secret security clearance
