We are currently seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to assume the position of Lifeguard/Instructor with the Community Services Department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Programs Manager and under the direct supervision of the Pool Supervisor and Assistant Pool Supervisor the incumbent provides constant safety supervision instructs a wide variety of aquatic programs delivers exceptional customer service and assists with special events. This position is also responsible for maintenance duties as assigned and may act as shift leader providing general directions to part-time staff in the absence of the Pool Supervisor and Assistant Pool Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The incumbent must possess a Grade 12 diploma and have a minimum of 1 year of experience as a lifeguard and/or instructor. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work shift work are required. The incumbent must possess current certification in the following:
- National Lifeguard Certification
- Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Certification
- Lifesaving Instructor Certification
- Standard First Aid AED/CPR (Basic Rescuer)
SALARY:
The City of Yellowknife offers a starting salary of $88741.34 per annum as well as a comprehensive benefits package including housing and vacation travel allowance totaling $450 per month a defined benefit pension plan and relocation assistance.
