As a new Maintenance Team Member joining our Village Team you will:
Be comfortable working at heights and with exposure to outside weather conditions and understand the physical expectations of maintenance work
Handle Residents personal items with care and respect
Comfortable lifting 15-25 lbs.
Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents families and team members
Be willing to work in a fast-paced environment
Have exceptional time management skills and ability to work in collaboration with a team
Support and embrace our resident-centered social culture
Assets but not required as Schlegel Villages provides training to the successful candidate:
Have experience working in a Long-Term Care or Retirement Home setting
An awareness and understanding of infection control practices workplace hazardous materials and chemicals (WHMIS) as well as all relevant health and safety procedures
An understanding of general maintenance and trades such as carpentry plumbing HVAC and electrical
The awareness and ability to operate equipment and machinery such as hot water heating systems air exchange units fire alarms sprinkler systems and/or call systems
