We are seeking a temporary Garage Serviceperson to join our Fleet team. Under the general guidance of the Foreman or Service Writer Fleet Operations the Garage Serviceperson is responsible for completing oil changes and lubricating vehicles and equipment as assigned; preparing work orders and maintaining accurate and timely records of completed work; inspecting vehicles and equipment during scheduled service work and reporting any deficiencies; completing minor repairs on vehicles and equipment and assisting others as required; maintaining clean and safe repair areas and vehicle washing facilities; and performing other related duties as assigned to support other ATCO employees working within the Mechanical Services shop. May work with automotive vehicles and/or heavy-duty equipment.

What You Get to Do:

• Complete maintenance and minor repairs on vehicles and equipment.

• Complete paperwork (work orders invoicing timecards etc.) as required.

• Inspect vehicles and equipment.

• Provide support for Mechanical Services Technicians.

• Assist in maintaining shop equipment inventory and shop cleanliness.

• Transport vehicles to and from vendors and pick up parts.

• Other general shop labour duties to support operations of Mechanical services.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).

• A valid Alberta Class 5 drivers license is required.

• A Class 3 Drivers license with air brake endorsement would be considered an asset.

• Must be able to obtain the appropriate company required certificates and successfully complete the required courses such as Defensive Driving Standard First Aid and CPR courses.

• Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude and dexterity in the use of tools and equipment.

• Must display good verbal and written communication skills decision making skills and strong work ethics and be able to maintain and promote good working relationships and excellent customer service.

• Experience servicing vehicles and equipment in a shop facility is desirable.

• Equipment operating experience would be considered an asset.

• Must be able and prepared to work in all types of weather.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Must participate in the shift schedule as required.

• If Calgary or Edmonton based may be transferred within these areas as business needs change.

• This position is a Safety-Sensitive position and has additional pre-employment requirements.
