Job Summary

We are inviting expressions of interest for a one-year temporary I&S Coordinator position. This leadership opportunity includes a stipend of $6000/ year and a GRLB of $5000 as well as a time release of 6 hours. Interested candidates should submit their application by Friday April 17 2026.

Position Summary:



The Curriculum Coordinator is the pedagogical leader responsible forsupporting and enhancing student learning and achievement in the following subject or IB core areas:



  • SS Individuals & Societies (G10-12)

The Curriculum Coordinator leads and represents a team of colleagues in all matters related to learning and teaching curriculum and assessment in the relevant subject strand. They collaborate with other Curriculum Coordinators and the MYP/DP Coordinators to ensure vertical and horizontal continuity and progression and to participate in decision-making about the schools educational addition to promoting the highest quality of teaching and learning in their subject strand the Curriculum Coordinator also ensures that the subject strand contributes to the schools strategic goals including engaging student agency and technology to continue to support increased personalisation of learning; an increased focus on student wellbeing; and a continued focus on skills development.



A particular area of focus for these roles is differentiation and inclusion. We have increased the time allowance for most of these roles by 2 hours per cycle so that Coordinators have more time to work with the Learning Strategies team to develop their skills and support their teams to ensure that pedagogical best practice supports the full range of learners in all classrooms. The school will support Coordinators development in this area with a significant investment in their ongoing professional development. By the end of the three-year cycle we hope to be able to measure the positive impact that enhanced differentiation techniques have on student outcomes.



This is a key pedagogical leadership and management role and the post-holder should be collegial supportive and flexible able to work independently and as part of a team to identify and achieve shared goals. The Curriculum Coordinator is supported by the Senior School or Middle School Principal and works closely with the Divisional Vice Principals MYP and DP Coordinators and the Deputy Head of School. Curriculum Coordinators will be actively supported in their development as pedagogical leaders and will be expected to participate in ongoing professional development activities.



Key Duties and Responsibilities:

In addition to the meeting the expectations of all Upper School teachers at Mulgrave the Curriculum Coordinator also leads and manages their respective subject area by:

  • Supporting their teaching team to ensure a consistently high quality of teaching and learning
  • Working with team members to develop their ability to effectively differentiate instruction and promote inclusion
  • Liaising with the Learning Strategies team to ensure that departmental practices align with schoolwide goals for inclusive teaching and learning
  • Identifying evidence that highlights the success of differentiation strategies employed by your teaching team
  • Ensuring that teaching and learning promote curiosity and the love of the subject
  • Developing processes and procedures to ensure that the quality of learning and achievement is monitored evaluated and shared
  • Monitoring the quality and consistency of student assessment feedback and reporting
  • Ensuring that the curriculum is fully articulated in terms of content skills and concepts and accurately recorded
  • Directing the teams focus on the teaching and assessment of ATL skills
  • Enriching student learning through appropriate trips and visits co-curricular activities and other special events
  • Using standardised test and other assessment data to monitor student progress identify areas for differentiation and improve teaching and learning
  • Providing guidance and mentorship for new teachers and ongoing support for other team members
  • Fostering and facilitating professional learning opportunities for team members
  • Working with the Principal to oversee the annual Teacher Professional Growth Plan (TPGP) for team members
  • Managing the departmental budget to ensure resources are used effectively to enhance student learning
  • Overseeing the work of technicians assistants and other non-teaching departmental staff where applicable (Science Film Visual Art Design European Languages Mandarin Learning Strategies)
