Summer Camp Volunteer Abbotsford

TheClinic Volunteerplays a vital role in executing a variety of engaging activities tailored to the needs of children and youth with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) or other learning and developmental delays. TheClinic Volunteerwill help create a safe organized and positive camp environment that encourages teamwork creativity and skill development while accommodating behavioral challenges.

Location and duration

• June 29 September 4 (Closed July 1 & Aug 3)
• 8AM to 4pm Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate diverse daily activities creating an engaging and supportive atmosphere
• Aid in picking activities motivating teamparticipationand imaginative thinking.
• Proactively encourage positive behavior and teamwork addressing behavioral challenges as needed.
• Maintain a clean organized and safe activity environment at all times.
• Provide professional positive and respectful communication updatesregardingbehavior to caregivers

Qualifications:

• We encourage current university students pursuing careers in Occupational Therapy Speech-Language PathologyBehaviourAnalysisEducation Early ChildhoodDevelopmentor Psychology.
• Clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening and legally authorized to work in Canada
• Experience in program coordinationrecreationally-centeredor community-based work is an asset.
• Experience working with a group of children with diverse needs is an asset.
