Financial Planning & Analysis-Assist Manager

Job Descriptions:

An execution-focused highly analytical position that provides direct support to the Budget & Planning Director. This role is crucial for managing the flow of data and creating the detailed reports that underpin strategic financial decisions the technical execution data management and initial analysis required for the planning and forecasting cycles:

Scope:

Colgate Thailand subsidiary (include Thailand Cambodia Laos and Myanmar Export)

Product: Toothbrush Mouthwash and Other oral care Sub category (except toothpaste)

Key responsibilities include:

• Data Preparation and Reporting: Responsible for the accurate extraction consolidation and validation of financial data from various source systems (SAP BI tools) to prepare routine monthly and quarterly reports (e.g. Colgate Thailand P&L Balance Sheet and Cash Generation).

• Budget and Forecast Input: Assist Line Manager in collecting reviewing and entering detailed inputs from business units into the financial planning system for both the annual budget and monthly forecasts. This involves ensuring templates are correct and deadlines are met.

• Initial Variance Analysis: Conduct the first level of detailed variance analysis investigating discrepancies between actual results and planned targets. Summarize key findings for the line manager to review and synthesize.

• Professional Channel Financial Partnering: Serve as the dedicated financial lead and business partner for the Professional Channel (Dental Clinics channel) responsible for budgeting forecasting and detailed performance analysis of Net Sales trade spending and profitability within the channel driving joint financial accountability for channel growth targets.

• Pricing Strategy and Structure Management: Provide financial leadership on the pricing structure by analyzing the P&L impact of proposed pricing actions (including list prices discounts and promotional architecture) assessing competitive effects and ensuring pricing decisions are optimized to maximize Net Sales and Margin.

• Hypothetical P&L Modeling (What-If Scenarios): Lead the development and execution of hypothetical P&L models (hypo P&Ls) and scenario analysis for major business decisions (e.g. new product launches strategic capital investments competitor responses) quantifying risks and opportunities to enable informed data-driven management decisions.

• Financial Modeling Support: Provide support in maintaining and updating financial models (e.g. Pricing Structure Hypo P&L Sales Growth Analysis (SGA) and Margin Growth Analysis (MGA) tracking) and assist in running scenario analyses as requested by the Manager or Director.

• Process Documentation: Help document current FP&A processes reporting methodologies and system procedures to ensure consistency and facilitate knowledge transfer within the team.

• Process Improvement Implementation: Successfully support the implementation of new reporting tools or process enhancements demonstrating a proactive approach to improving efficiency.

Technical & Functional Skills

• Analytical Rigor: Excellent ability to handle and reconcile large datasets with a strong focus on numerical accuracy and identifying inconsistencies.

• Technical Business Acumen: Highly proficient in leveraging advanced financial modeling (Excel) ERP systems (SAP) and specialized FP&A software (e.g. CsiP) to extract manipulate and analyze complex business data; ability to quickly translate raw operational and commercial data into clear validated financial reports and initial insights.

• Advanced Excel Proficiency: High-level skills in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheet (e.g. pivot tables VLOOKUPs advanced formulas) are essential for data manipulation and reporting.

• System Knowledge: Solid working experience with ERP systems (e.g. SAP) for data extraction and financial reporting/planning tools (e.g. CSiP BPC Sigma).

• Financial Fundamentals: Firm grasp of the components of the P&L and key financial metrics.
