As a Staff Frontend Engineer you will take ownership of the frontend architecture and lead the development of a large-scale e-commerce platform. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will guide a team of engineers shape technical direction and build high-performance user experiences at scale. You will work at the intersection of engineering product design and marketing - driving both delivery and long-term technical excellence.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Delivery

• Lead mentor and grow a team of frontend engineers fostering a high-performing and inclusive engineering culture.
• Drive delivery of initiatives from concept to production ensuring quality scalability and timeliness.
• Set expectations align stakeholders and maintain strong cross-functional relationships.

Technical Excellence & Architecture

• Define and evolve frontend architecture for a high-traffic e-commerce platform.
• Make strategic technical decisions that balance short-term delivery with long-term scalability.
• Lead technical discussions and ensure adoption of best practices across the team.

Frontend Development & Design Systems

• Build and maintain reusable scalable UI components and contribute to the design system.
• Develop modern responsive and performant web applications with a mobile-first approach.
• Ensure high standards in code quality testing and maintainability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner closely with Product Managers Designers and Marketing teams to deliver impactful user experiences.
• Translate business and product requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Support experimentation through analytics and A/B testing frameworks.

Requirements:

Technical Expertise

• 8 years of experience in frontend development including experience in a technical leadership or staff-level role.
• Strong proficiency in React and modern JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystems.
• Experience building scalable consumer-facing web applications.
• Solid understanding of performance optimization and web performance metrics.
• Experience with REST APIs and GraphQL integrations.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms.
• Experience with testing practices (unit testing TDD).

Architecture & Systems Thinking

• Experience building reusable composable frontend architectures and component libraries.
• Understanding of headless CMS solutions (e.g. Contentful GraphCMS).
• Familiarity with CDN configuration and optimization (e.g. Cloudflare CloudFront Akamai).

Collaboration & Mindset

• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Experience working in cross-functional agile environments.
• Ownership mindset with end-to-end responsibility for features and systems.
• Passion for continuous learning and improvement.
