About the role

Based in Brisbane or Perth our CSP Standards and Assurance Team is seeking aPrincipal Advisor-Governanceto ensureRio TintosCSP standard remainsriskalignedand compliant throughexpert advicestrategic oversight and continuous alignment withinternal/externalstandards and best a global seniortechnicalrole working across aninternational landscape ofindustry partnershipsandESG standards. It is integral to our social risk and assurance processes.

Reporting to theSenior Manager CSP Governanceand working in a global capacityyou will:

Standards alignment and consistency

  • MaintainCSP control document alignment withRio Tinto commitments and externalregulatory requirements

  • MonitoremerginginternationalESGassurance frameworks and social performancestandards

  • Review and input to draft industry standards on behalf of Rio Tinto and signal whencorresponding updates arerequired to internal standards

  • Work with SMEs across disciplines and regions to ensure consistent interpretation ofCSP requirements of internal and external Standards

Capability framework

  • Develop andmaintaintheCSP capability framework including defining capability requirements for roles with community or human rights exposure.

  • Manage relationships with academic/learning partners( Centre for Future Materials)

Targeted technical support

  • Providetechnical CSP advice to support the CSPassurance processes.

About you

You are an experienced andtechnically strong CSP governance specialist with the ability to interpret and apply a broad complex international landscape ofinternal andexternal standards translating these into practical riskaligned capability frameworks. You bring proven experience partnering withinternal andexternal stakeholdersand are a confident influencer who can negotiatecollaborateandprovidetrusted technical advice across multidisciplinary will alsodemonstrate:

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and yourteam

  • Strong knowledge of CSP technical discipline and asset level field experience in the mining or related industry

  • Strong project management skills with an attention to detail and time management

  • Ability to identify and anticipate risks and opportunities with incomplete information and time constraints witha track recordof sound professional judgment

  • Ability to work through a global networked organisation to achieve strong outcomes

  • Ability to simplify technical content into clear and practical guidance and deliver contentthroughstrong collaboration

  • Effective influencing skills when engaging with senior leaders; superior written and verbal communication skills

  • Social science or related qualification

Youlljoin the CommunitiesandSocial Performance (CSP) Standards and Assurance team withinSafety DevelopmentandTechnical (SD&T). Our role is to provide clear CSP and human rights standards andminimumrequirements design and deliver consistent second-line assurance (with a coaching mindset) sharelearningsand best practice and define the technical capabilities needed to meet standards while Product Groups and assetsremainaccountable for delivery.
