ROLE PURPOSE: The Awards Development Officer will coordinate and develop proposals for competitive funding opportunities. The position requires innovative thinking and creativity to package our programme strategies in ways that attract the right donor support and grow our portfolio strategically and sustainably. Recognising that many conversations with donors involve a review or update around current grants as well as discussions about new opportunities this role will also be expected to remain informed about the progress of major institutional grants. The Awards Development Officer will also undertake Donor Landscape Studies regularly to identify donor trends lead in the development of country funding strategies facilitate structured donor engagement track and identify donor opportunities In the event of a major humanitarian emergency the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly | |

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY: Proposal Development (65%) Ensure a clear and structured go/no-go process is in place. Process-lead the development of proposals building on global regional and national expertise and ensuring the highest quality product. Serve as lead writer and proposal lead for key competitive bids with inputs on technical writing from PDQ and other departments. Work with Members to ensure that proposal development teams are appropriately resourced. Lead capture planning for key opportunities ensuring that donor analysis competitor analysis and an analysis of SCs strengths and weaknesses informs go/no-go decisions partnership strategies and increases preparedness for developing high quality proposals. Drive interdepartmental coordination for project design with PDQ Advocacy Programme Operations Awards (for field team inputs logistics requirements costings etc.) Security Logistics Finance and HR (for staffing requirements). Ensure full internal and member review and sign off as per the proposal development process and Fundraising Protocol. Draft key sections of proposals that are standard inputs e.g. capability statements; country context and programme experience while drawing on the expertise of Technical Advisors Operations Finance HR and Security. Represent SC Egypt as a generalist alongside technical experts in consortium meetings regarding proposal development. Ensure that Theory of Change is addressed in all new proposals and that key elements of programme quality are included (e.g. child participation child safeguarding gender lessons learned from past proposals accountability risk assessments effective and sustainable partnerships etc.). In coordination with PDQ ensure that Common Approaches are integrated in proposal development when appropriate and relevant. Coordinate Value for Money calculations in proposal development as required by donors. Ensure proposals are compliant with all requirements of the donor and solicitation. Arrange for after action reviews with the support of Global team business partners and/or Members to promote learning and ensure quality of proposals. Strategy and Planning (15%) Refresh Donor Landscape Studies on an appropriate frequency Work with PDQ to develop generic concept notes for thematic areas and cross-sectoral integration. These concepts should reflect our ambitions and new creative thinking to achieve more for children. Support SMT in developing and managing consortium arrangements. Ensure appropriate documentation developed and filed to support consortium arrangements. Maintain AMS and internal tracking systems and participate in monthly NBD-Awards meetings. Awards-NBD facilitation (20%) Serves as the primary focal point for reviewing AMS records related to new opportunities and proposals ensuring all required documentation is properly approved and uploaded prior to initiating the relevant workflows Coordinates with relevant Technical Advisors (TAs) and MEAL staff to ensure all awardspecific data is accurately reflected in AMS including themes sub-themes response codes Risk factors value of procurement CAM Value dates of submitting CN Proposal Due date and Date proposal submitted) Coordinates the implementation and followup of action points related to NBD in different platforms as Pre-kick off meetings ARM donor meetings ... etc Facilitates structured communication between NBD Awards Management Technical Advisors MEAL and Finance teams to ensure shared understanding of opportunity status and award conditions Completes the Donor Compliance Matrix for areas related to technical compliance requirements outlined in the proposal documentation | |

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree in a related field related to International development Fluent English and Arabic Languages Skills Proficiency in an additional SCI working language such as French or Spanish is considered a distinct advantage | |
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Essential: A minimum of three (3) years of proven experience in role(s) focused on New Business Development and Awards Management Proven practical management experience preferably in both emergency and development programmes Good understanding of donor Landscapes Good understanding Of Awards management Principles and essentials Computer literate (i.e. WORD advanced Excel Outlook Internet Explorer financial systems) Cultural awareness and ability to build relationships quickly with a wide variety of people Excellent planning management and coordination skills with the ability to organise a workload comprised of varying and changing tasks and responsibilities Desirable: Good Understanding of Partnership management principles and Practices Good Understanding of Monitoring and Evaluation principles and tools Experience in one or more of Save the childrens thematic areas as Education.
