Senior IT Business Controller

In this position you will play a key role in bringing structure and transparency to IT financesoverseeing budgeting improving cost efficiency and building robust financial processes that support long-term business objectives. Reporting into senior leadership and managing a small team youll work cross-functionally with technology finance and procurement stakeholders to ensure financial alignment and accountability.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading the end-to-end budgeting cycle for the IT function including forecasting tracking actuals and analysing variances to provide clear financial insight
  
• Monitoring spend across the department identifying opportunities for optimisation and ensuring disciplined cost management practices
  
• Supporting the financial governance of IT initiatives ensuring projects remain on track and within agreed budgets
  
• Managing internal cost allocation processes and maintaining structured recharge mechanisms
  
• Overseeing both operational and capital expenditure ensuring effective planning control and resource allocation
  
• Producing detailed financial reports for senior stakeholders with actionable insights and recommendations
  
• Ensuring compliance with internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements
  
• Partnering closely with internal teams to align financial planning with broader organisational goals
  
• Acting as a key contact for procurement-related activities including purchase processes and supplier coordination
  
• Providing tools guidance and support to help non-finance stakeholders manage budgets effectively
  

Requirements

Ideal candidate profile:

• Degree in finance accounting or a related discipline
  
• Significant experience in financial management including several years in a senior IT-focused controlling role
  
• Strong familiarity with financial systems and data analysis tools (e.g. ERP platforms)
  
• Solid understanding of IT financial structures including budgeting forecasting cost allocation and capital vs operational expenditure
  
• Knowledge of financial reporting standards and best practices in documentation
  
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  
• Proven ability to lead influence and collaborate across teams
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to balance strategic thinking and detail
  
• Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are advantageous
