Senior Supervisor Environmental Monitoring Systems Geel

The EMS (Environmental Monitoring Systems) group is responsible for monitoring and managing the quality aspects of utilities (water steam nitrogen compressed air) and the environment in classified cleanrooms (air surfaces personnel cleaning/disinfection). This covers the following areas:

  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing departments such as Sterile Parenteral Forms Liquids and Semi-solids Transdermal Forms in Beerse and Chemical Production in Geel and Olen
  • Pharmaceutical Product Development
  • QC Microbiology Laboratory

Your role

  • Lead the EMS team in Geel ensuring safe compliant and efficient delivery of all EMS activities for the site.
  • Coach and develop your team through clear goals regular feedback and a supportive environment that enables growth and sustainable performance. Provide day-to-day leadership to a team of EMS specialists driving high performance in line with GMP and site expectations.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with key internal and external partners. Maintain strong relationships with various customers such as Quality Assurance Production Facilities & Utilities Technical Services QC labs and suppliers.
  • Foster a culture of safety quality and teamwork aligned with the organizations values. Live and champion our Credo.
  • Coordinate EMS activities during shutdowns ensuring continuity clear priorities and compliant execution.
  • Manage key GMP documentation including interpretation review and approval of EMS-related records.
  • Represent EMS during GMP inspections and audits and drive timely follow-up and continuous improvements.
  • Lead and support improvement initiatives that strengthen safety compliance quality and performance.
  • Serve as the EMS representative and key point of contact for cross-functional projects.

Your profile

  • Masters degree in microbiology biotechnology (bio)chemistry pharmacyor proven equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of people leadership experience
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). Fluent in Dutch and English
  • Strong leadership capabilities sound decision-making and a constructive approach to conflict resolution
  • Strong knowledge of cGMP regulations and industry standards (FDA EU ISO etc.)
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Knowledge of microbiology experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment and experience within a pharmaceutical quality organization are a plus
