About the role
Reporting to the Charge Nurse Manager of Te Puna Wai Ora this role fosters a culture within the unit that continues to strive for excellence in clinical services and focuses on patient centred care.
Our multi-disciplinary team provides care across the whole life spectrum including
- Paediatric and obstetric patients
- Those requiring cardiothoracic neurosurgery and complex medical OR trauma care including renal replacement
- A retrieval service utilising helicopter and fixed wing flights
Key accountabilities of this role include
- Strategic leadership
- Staff education
- Development and recruitment
- Along with financial management
- Production planning
- Report writing
- Quality and risk management.
- Operationally you will turn your hand to supervision mentoring and developing relationships through close liaison with other services both internal and external.

About you
- Current NZ APC and relevant post graduate qualifications
- A Senior Registered Nurse with significant Critical Care experience
- You will bring a clear focussed vision; strive for contemporary practice and be firm but fair with the ability to inspire staff being their advocate when needed.
- Proven success in nursing leadership will be complemented by your knowledge of and experience in clinical quality safety and best practice.

Salary Range
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the expired NZNO CEA and the salary will be in accordance with the DSN Pay Scale Grade 2 between $116040 and $127674 p.a dependant on relevant experience.
