About the Role
We are currently looking for a highly experienced Senior Planner to join our team. You will take a leading role in managing and driving the planning function on major projects ensuring the successful coordination of time performance cost risk scheduling and change management processes. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of New Zealands most innovative and challenging infrastructure or building projects.
As a Senior Planner you will develop comprehensive schedules provide key planning insights and lead a team of planning professionals to achieve outstanding delivery outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
In this role you will:
- Develop and maintain detailed construction programmes using Primavera P6 and industry-standard planning software.
- Monitor project progress update schedules and identify potential risks to the critical path.
- Prepare look-ahead schedules reporting dashboards S-curves and programme summaries to provide a clear overview of project health.
- Integrate subcontractor data into the project schedule while verifying site progress.
- Support tender programmes scenario planning and bid development by creating accurate and realistic schedules.
- Analyse project performance identify risks and work with the project team to develop mitigation strategies.
- Maintain systems and tools for performance measurement project reporting and compliance documentation.
- Actively lead time impact assessments on project variations and manage resulting programme updates.
- Develop and refine planning processes aligned with project controls and best practices including dashboards and KPIs.
- Champion the implementation of Last Planner 4D planning and BIM (when applicable).
- Provide strategic advice to project teams and stakeholders on programme challenges and solutions.
- Deliver training development and coaching to junior planners and planning staff.
What Youll Bring
Were looking for individuals with the following capabilities and experience:
Mandatory:
- 10 years proven experience in Tier 1 construction planning and project delivery.
- Tertiary qualifications in Construction Management Civil Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong expertise in sequencing scheduling logic resource allocation and earned value analysis.
- High-level organisational analytical and communication skills with a collaborative mindset to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced challenging work environment including experience with remote regional projects.
- Proven ability to manage complex project timelines on major infrastructure or building projects.
Desirable:
- Professional certifications such as PMI-SP PSP PMI-CP or CIOB/APM.
- Experience with large-scale institutional civil or infrastructure projects.
- Comprehensive knowledge of 4D planning and BIM techniques.
