We currently have an opportunity for a Team Leader tojoin our Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice team and play a key role in our high performance team.Reporting tothe Senior Site Facilities Manageryoull help deliver high-quality outcomes that support our essential services.

Downer holds a long-term Asset Management and Facilities Management contract with the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice that proactively manages and delivers to the national portfolio of facilities including 15 prisons 98 courts and 141 community correctional sites.
We now have an opportunity for a Team Leader to join our team in Wellington at the Rimutaka Prison. This position is full time with a guaranteed min 40 hours per week and will be responsible for asset maintenance team leadership and delivering excellent customer service to our client.
Prisons are sometimes challenging work environments so you must be confident and able to conduct yourself professionally at all times. You will also understand the 24/7 nature of a prison site and be prepared to sometimes manage jobs and situations after hours.
What Youll Do
This role offers a broad scope with key responsibilities including:
Leadership of the team both through guidance and leading by example to complete tasks.
A hands-on approach and you will be required to assist in the site-specific deliverables (i.e. you may be on the tools for part of each day)
Promoting strong collaborative customer relationships with positive interactions and value adding activities
Support with solid technical solutions in the trades areas (electrical air conditioning mechanical building and facilities assets spaces)
Allocation of work to the correct trade resources

Were looking for someone who is passionate about going the extra mile! You are motivated and ready for the opportunity to take on a leadership role to achieve a high standard performance. You will also bring with you:
Relevant trades background and qualifications (i.e. electrical building plumbing HVAC)
Minimum five years experience in a trade environment.
Demonstrated experience in operational leadership of a multi trade service delivery team.
Experience driving operational activities to ensure quality workmanship is achieved jobs are completed to schedule and on time and rework is minimised.
Ownership and commitment.
Hold current full drivers license essential
A good level of computer skills as all work is completed using computers and tablets.
