Job Overview
We are seeking experienced Manufacturing Engineers with strong expertise in elastomer-based manufacturing processes. This role focuses on developing optimizing and sustaining manufacturing operations to ensure high product quality efficiency and compliance with industry standards. The position works closely with cross-functional teams including engineering quality safety and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Process Engineering & Optimization
- Develop implement and optimize elastomer processes such as molding extrusion mixing and curing (compression molding injection molding calendaring).
- Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies and drive continuous improvement using Lean Six Sigma and root-cause analysis.
- Create and maintain process documentation including SOPs work instructions control plans and PFMEAs.
Manufacturing Support
- Provide daily technical support to production teams and troubleshoot process/equipment issues.
- Define and validate process parameters to ensure stability repeatability and compliance.
- Support tooling design trials and qualification for elastomer components.
Equipment & Technology
- Specify validate and maintain manufacturing equipment such as mixers extruders molding presses and curing ovens.
- Lead or support capital equipment projects (justification procurement installation validation).
- Identify and implement new technologies to improve production efficiency and product consistency.
Safety & Environmental
- Identify and mitigate risks related to high-temperature processes chemical handling and press operations.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations related to elastomer materials and curing agents.
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience as a Manufacturing Engineer within an elastomer manufacturing environment (mandatory).
- Knowledge of elastomer processes such as molding extrusion and curing.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with process optimization and troubleshooting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Aerospace industry experience.
- Familiarity with ITAR regulations.
- Knowledge of AS9100 standards.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen (required due to ITAR regulations).
