Job Summary

description:

Delivers direct/indirect care for individual patients or an assigned group of patients receiving psychiatric care under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN). Meets patient care needs. Assumes responsibility for patient data collection. Provides assigned care of psychiatric patients using age related interventions. Uses therapeutic communication skills and assists with therapeutic and recreational activities as necessary.

requirement:

Vallejo Location - Night Shift 11pm to 7:30am; 5 x 8s no set days. typically every other weekend as well. BHT requires either Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician. Must have BLS and preferably CPI. CPI can be attained on site. Require 1 year of psych experience. No on Call. Cannot accept Mental Health and Work Experience:High School Education/GED or equivalent: RequiredAssociates/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: PreferredTwo years experience in acute or long-term mental healthcare hospital: PreferredLicenses/Certifications:Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) licensure in state of practice: PreferredFacility Specific License/Certifications:Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse (LVN/LPN) or Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT): RequiredDepartment Specific License/Certifications:Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM) or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI): RequiredAHA-BLS or ARC-BLS: Required
