Job Overview
Tekberry is seeking an experienced Measurements Technician III to support precision optical testing and metrology operations for our client a global leader in advanced materials and optical technologies. This role focuses on the assembly integration testing and optimization of high-precision optical systems within a research and development environment.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in optical alignment test setup and data analysis along with the ability to work independently in evolving technically complex environments.

Key Responsibilities
Optical Testing & System Integration
- Support assembly integration and qualification of optical metrology systems
- Perform precision optical alignment and system setup
- Execute testing and optimization of optical components and systems
Data Analysis & Process Support
- Analyze test data using tools such as Excel MATLAB or Python
- Interpret results and support system performance improvements
- Contribute to workflow enhancements and process optimization
Technical Execution & Problem Solving
- Follow and adapt technical procedures in a dynamic R&D environment
- Troubleshoot optical system issues and recommend corrective actions
- Support open-ended problem solving with minimal supervision
Quality & Safety Compliance
- Ensure proper handling and care of sensitive optical components
- Maintain adherence to safety standards and laboratory protocols
- Document testing procedures results and system configurations
Collaboration & Research Support
- Work closely with engineering and research teams
- Support development and validation of new optical technologies
- Communicate findings and progress to stakeholders
Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associates degree required (Bachelors degree preferred)
- Degree in Optics or related field preferred
- 7 years of experience in optics (with Associates degree) OR
- 5 years of experience in optics (with Bachelors degree)
Technical Skills
- Strong understanding of geometrical optics
- Experience with optical alignment test setup and system integration
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel MATLAB Python)
- Ability to quickly learn technical procedures and adapt to evolving requirements
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
Core Competencies
- Self-directed with ability to work independently
- Strong attention to detail and precision
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Comfortable working in research or experimental environments
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in cleanroom environments
