CNC Machinist

JOB TITLE: CNC Machinist
LOCATION: Stratford CT
PAY RATE: $30-40/hour

We are a national aerospace and defense staffing agency seeking highly qualified candidates for a position with a top-tier client.

Summary:

• Create and validate CNC programs for milling turning and other machine operations; verify programs written by other shop personnel.

• Analyze engineering drawings CAD files and part renderings to ensure manufacturability and accuracy.

• Collaborate with engineering machinists and management to improve productivity setup/run time quality and safety.

• Assist operators with programming and troubleshooting as needed.

• Manage program file revisions and documentation for future builds.

• Develop standardized setup and tooling lists for operators.

• Identify tooling requirements based on material type engineering definition and machine capabilities.

Requirements:

• 8 years of experience in tool and die fabrication including 5 years leading CNC mill/lathe operations.

• Proficiency in CNC setup programming (G-code M-code) and CAM software (e.g. Mastercam).

• Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T interpretation; ability to work with 3D models.

• Experience using inspection tools for in-process quality control.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts across teams.

• Commitment to safety and participation in ESH programs with proactive hazard identification.

• Experience machining a wide range of materials including steels alloys aluminum titanium super alloys plastics composites and additive manufactured parts.

• Ability to train and mentor junior machinists on setup inspection and best practices.

• Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
